Consideration of layered reservoir heterogeneity in the hydrodynamic model due to modification of relative phase permeability

Abstract


This article analyzes the impact of neglecting geological heterogeneities on the history matching accuracy of a hydrodynamic model, which is particularly relevant in conditions of high uncertainty in reservoir properties in the interwellbore space. The objective of the study is to identify patterns in relative permeability changes when accounting for layer-by-layer heterogeneity during the history matching process. Numerical modeling methods based on real field data were used. The results demonstrate improved convergence between calculated and actual data by adjusting relative permeability.
