Additional exploration and development of a shallow oil field in the Samara region

Abstract

The main purpose of this work is to further explore the oil field under development, to increase oil reserves categorization and to optimize the field development. Within the framework of this work, the option of drilling an advanced production well as an exploratory well is considered in detail and the effect of this drilling is evaluated. The work also proposes a set of measures and research works for more successful subsequent development of the field. The proposed scenario of additional exploration will make it possible to study in a short time the peculiarities of the geological structure of hydrocarbon deposits, clarify the geological and physical characteristics of reservoirs and reservoir fluids, as well as improve the quality of preparation of reserves for development. Putting the exploration well into operation will optimize the production of oil reserves, improve the field development system and increase the economic effect.
