Abstract
The article deals with the geochemical characteristics of heavy oils and natural bitumen, their classification and genetic types. Based on the analysis of geochemical characteristics of heavy oils and natural bitumens within Central Asia allocated three groups heavy oils and four types of clusters natural bitumen, which differ from each other not only on the area of distribution, but also on the material composition of bitumen. The analysis made it possible to identify the conditions of formation and the presence of regularities in geochemical parameters, as well as the location and presence of forms of deposits of natural bitumen and heavy oils in the oil and gas regions of Central Asia.
