Abstract
This paper discusses the gas-oil-ratio (GOR) measuring technique for various geologic conditions. In case of GOR measuring in wells producing from multilayered reservoirs the available technologies based on downhole sampling with a multi-chamber sampling tool and further laboratory analysis of the samples are inefficient and require longterm well shutoff. Based on recent advances in geophysical tools development, fluid samplers are suggested to be equipped with temperature-controlled heaters and ultrasonic fluid-density meters. This will provide rapid measurement of GOR directly in a borehole without sample lifting to the surface, thus significantly increasing technical-and-economic efficiency of this operation
